Staying Cool in the Summer Heat
To prevent heat-related illnesses in extreme heat, students should:
- Wear loose light clothing, which will help reduce body heat.
- Drink plenty of water. Bring a reusable water bottle to school.
- Wear a hat outside and apply sunscreen with SPF of 30 or higher.
- Students should apply the sunscreen independently. Due to allergies, any sun protection creams should never be shared with other students.
Have You Moved or Are You Moving Over the Summer?
Please let the school office know if you have a change in address so we can keep our files up to date. If your child will not be returning to Phoebe Gilman in September, our office staff can support the transfer of our students’ files to the new school.

For safety, Crocs, slides, sandals, and flip flops are not considered proper footwear and should not be worn for gym class. Students should be wearing running shoes.
